2007 Season - Week 22

BUMSBowl XII

Congratulations to David Stamp who won BUMSBowl XII beating Wayne 20-17 in the big game. The difference was the 3 point difference between the kickers, the same 3 point difference which resulted in the Giants beating the Patriots in the biggest Superbowl upset ever. For Wayne it was his second loss in the big game while Stampy has won it in his first appearance. It is his second trophy having lifted the Papas Fritas trophy back in 1998. All-BUMS 2007 LaDainian Tomlinson made his fourth consecutive All-BUMS starting roster (and 5th roster overall) and is joined in the backfield by rookie Adrian Peterson. Tom Brady starts at QB (he was the backup in 2005). Brady is backed up by Brett Favre making his 5th appearance. He started for the inaugural All-BUMS team way back in 1995. After his record setting year Randy Moss starts for the 4th time (and 5th appearance) and is joined by first timer Braylon Edwards and the most successful All-BUMS player ever, Terrell Owens who starts for the 6th time & makes his 8th appearance overall. The kickers are new with Stephen Gostkowski beating Shayne Graham while Tony Dungy will lead this team for the 2nd consecutive year. He was also the Assistant Coach in 1999. Interestingly Bill Belicheat missed out despite his unbeaten run through the regular season finishing 3rd behind Jack Del Rio. Draft Order In the same way the play-off seeding works the draft order is based on lowest to highest scorer irrespective of division. Therefore Aaron is on the clock while Andy H will have the 16th pick. The full order is Aaron, John, David S, George/Marcus, Marcus/George, Chief, Dave G, Wayne, Daz, Cheryl, AP/Mark B, Mark B/AP, Mark H, Ron, Johnny and Andy H . There will be an extra pick at the end of the 5th round for Mark H, who will select his first franchise player later this year. 2008-9 franchise players will be selected early in the Summer after the draft and most of free agency has taken place. More details later. Superfood & Supergames As always a huge thanks to Cheryl for feeding the BUMS with a balanced diet that included Boston Baked Beans and New York Cheesecake. She got her reward in the Supergames as she picked the first scorer and was closest to both the half and fulltime scores, as well as taking a share of the Team win netting her over £14. Marcus won the quarter predictions. BUMS on Seats The Superbowl may be over but there is one last gathering scheduled for next Monday at 6pm as we meet at BUMS HQ to see the AFC take on the NFC in the Pro-Bowl. Let me know if you can make it.
